New Music Reviews...

Here's a review of the latest Verve records compilation. Special thanks to my man Shumon!

Verve Remixed Volume 4 – Universal Music

Again after 3 years Universal puts out another compilation of classic jazz meets modern electronic enthusiasm creating a 12-track compilation of sheer silk for the ears. The feel of the albums does not stray far from its past siblings with familiar artists like Diplo remixing Marlena Shaw’s “California Soul”, Cinematic Orchestra covering “I get a kick out of you” by Ella Fitzgerald and Mike Mangini doing “Gimme Some” by Nina Simone just to name a few. There is also a separate unmixed version available as well for those who want a lesson in jazz music from the timeless Verve label or for those who want to reacquaint themselves with some old music friends.
